Sharing the Music of Some of my Favorite Small Bands

Last night, my husband and  I went out to a concert to hear some good local music. It’s always fun to see our favorite bands play plus discover new bands from other cities that are passing through our state. It always makes for a great Friday night!

Local bands can sometimes have a reputation of not being very good. However, this is not always the case. During the past few years, we have discovered many interesting and talented local bands with great music. Yes, there will always be bands that are not very good or may not be of your liking. However, it is definitely worth it to go to different concerts and find a few hidden gems.

Below are videos of two of the bands we saw yesterday. Both very unique. Have a listen and enjoy!

This first one is an indie/alternate rock band. We had never heard these guys before, but really loved them. And their light-show was spectacular!

This second one is a metal band (no, it is not screamo or growl metal, the singing is really nice). We love these guys! We have been following them around for years. We try to make it to most of their concerts. They’re an incredibly fun band to watch live. The singer lights props on fire and runs around the crowd pretending to stab people with props (yes, they take the characters they portray very seriously, lol). They even have a few sing-along songs where they hold up signs with some of the lyrics and get the audience to sing along.

Make sure to check out your local music scene every once in a while and see if you find any hidden gems. Local bands deserve way more support than they actually get. 🙂
